Orion Telescopes Binoculars

Enjoy amazing 3D-like views through any telescope with our most advanced stereo binocular viewer! The Orion Premium Linear BinoViewer makes observing a comfortable and immersive experience, because you're using both eyes, not just one. How To Use Binoculars

The Canon 12x36 IS II Binoculars + More Than Meets the Eye

When I first got a look through the Canon 12x36 IS binoculars I thought that they were just a pair of binoculars and the image stability feature would be sketchy and would still require a tripod setup to eliminate the shaking. Well I was wrong and when I got the chance to actually use them, I was completely flabbergasted.

Unlike traditional binoculars, the Canon 12x36 IS binoculars have a feature called IS or image stability, which is what the IS stands for. Anyway normally when holding a set of binoculars up to your eyes, you would experience shaking from your hands, and although small, was magnified by the binoculars and made the image look distorted and sometimes blurry, and when you are using high magnification binoculars, you can see more of the shaking and less of what you are looking at clearly.

I am somewhat of an amateur astronomer and like to look at the night sky through a telescope. After I learned about the Canon 12x36 IS binoculars, I may never go back to a telescope, well perhaps I will but for right now these binoculars work just as good as a telescope. And there is even a place for you to mount a tripod, even though you don't really need one, however you have the option to connect to a tripod if you would like to.

So, how do these binoculars work? Well, I will not get into all the details here, but essentially all you must to do is press and hold down the IS button on the top of the binoculars while you are looking through them. Your finger may become fall asleep after a while, but the view is worth it. Maybe they will fix this feature in future models so that you can just press the button once and the IS will stay on for at least several minutes.

The Canon 12x36 IS binoculars are powered by 2 AA alkiline batteries. Using rechargable batteries is an option and still get the same great performance, however, the batteries still only last about 20 hours or so....
